Welcome to Moonlit. These Terms of Use govern your use of Moonlit on iOS and related website pages at moonlitverse.com. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Moonlit, you agree to these Terms of Use.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Moonlit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app, website, or related services.

2. App Description

Moonlit is an iOS application for learning and reading classical Chinese poetry. The app provides curated poetry collections with translations, annotations, and pinyin romanization. The app is designed for offline use and does not require an internet connection for core functionality. Some content or features may require a paid subscription.

Features, supported content, and availability may change over time as the product evolves.

3. Subscriptions and Pricing

Moonlit offers a free trial experience. Access to full content and advanced features requires a paid subscription. The app is distributed through Apple's App Store and subscriptions are managed via Apple's in-app purchase system.

Current subscription options are displayed within the app. Monthly and yearly subscription plans are available, with pricing as shown in the app at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

4. Permitted Use and License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use Moonlit for personal, non-commercial use.

The Moonlit app, branding, design, text, graphics, website content, and related materials are the intellectual property of Moonlit or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The classical Chinese poetry texts included in the app are in the public domain.

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, modify, or create derivative works from any part of Moonlit or related materials without prior written permission.

Moonlit is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability.

We do not warrant that Moonlit will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device or iOS version.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moonlit, its affiliates, licensors, service providers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, content, business opportunity, or device access arising out of or related to your use of the app, website, or related services.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the relevant website or product page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of Moonlit after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
